Do You Know...

...what these words have in common?

Keepsies
Marrididdles
Alley
Taw

Extra credit: Give the definition of each.

A free pair of these glasses to someone.
You don't have to have the right answer to win, so take a guess!
NO cheating (as in googling, wiki-ing)

Keepsies...as in for keeps in playing marbles

Marrididdles...pet name for Mary

Alley...the back street where no respectable girl would find herself these days, also, the place to meet someone for a fight

Taw...as in "I tawt I taw a putty tat!"

I just now saw that first I was supposed to say what the terms had in common...I am not very good at reading directions...okay...my guess is 'playing marbles' since I am pretty sure about "keepsies," but haven't a clue about the other words...like I really want the creepy glasses...

Dear Debbididdles,

Your comments were great: "I tawt I taw a putty tat." HA!

I'm not going to say that your guess is right just yet because maybe a few lurkers will get up the nerve to leave a comment. However, at the rate we are going here you might win the glasses by default. Creepy glasses???? You can't fool me...I know you have secretly wanted a pair since you first laid eyes on them. ;->

Keepsies--playing for keeps when you play marbles. Marrididdles are marbles made of clay. An alley is a marble made from marble.
A taw is the shooter marble. I can not tell a lie--I looked up this information. But I really want those glasses. Joanie

Just for fun, I looked up marrididdles AFTER I guessed (of course), it is also a type of font...Joanie, you NEED those glasses, they are so YOU!

I don't know, Debbididdles. I may need to cut that pair of glasses in half so that you and Joanie can share the joy!

Joanie, you cheated but I loves ya anyway!

I saw that it was a font, but because it didn't fit with the rest of the words, I didn't include it. But I will be happy to have half a glass--or maybe we should share. You can have it one week and I will get it another week. Works for me. Joanie

They are all yours, Joanie!

I know you want some glasses, Debbididdles. Gee, I hope I spelled your name right. Joanie
