Fall! Leaves, Apples, and Gourds

Some great sites for Fall:

Remember that old song?
The falling leaves...
drift by my window...
I feel a craft project coming on...
so I must go...

...or something like that. I know the first two lines are right. Here's a project for you if you just don't know what to do with all those pretty maple leaves that will be falling soon:

...and if you are like me and don't know a maple leaf from a ginko, here's a nice leaf identification guide from the Missouri Botanical Garden:

Mmmmmm...apples. Beautiful pictures of a number of varieties at:
Apple Journal: Photo Gallery

Gourds: In my spare time I would love to learn how to do this:

Aren't those beautiful?

You find the most interesting and unusual web sites. Love the gourds. Your poetry is funny, but you could work on it a little. By the way, how is the sewing coming?

I should look at the roses made from leaves site but I already see me trying to make a rose and it just crumbles into many little pieces.

I don't know how you'll fit in all this crafting between knitting sweaters for all those dogs!

Thanks, Joananymous. I've been fascinated with gourd-carving for the longest time. And just think, if I ever got good at that craft and wanted to set up shop somewhere, I could call it Hoard's Gourds...or if I sold them on a boat, the sign would read "all aboard for Hoard's Gourds." Fran couuld be chairman of the board of Hoard's Gourds.

Jennifer, Simon's ensemble is coming along nicely. You did say hot pink, didn't you?
