So, now that I am picking up a little speed, I thought this would be a good time to tell you that whatever gift you get from me in the next few years will probably be something knitted. In fact I'm working on Christmas gifts for some of you now. Here are a few photos of what I hope will be finished in time to bless you with a little special handmade something. You'll notice these are mainly hats or legwarms, the easier stuff, because, well, I'm still learning.
Expect more ambitious gifts next year: jumpsuits, ponchos, sweatercoats, things like that. See if you can guess which one is yours.
This might be a good time to disown me as a friend, forget my blog address and block my emails. Don't say you weren't warned.

My guess for me (should I be one of the lucky knitted gift recipients) is the red hat with the heart earmuff thingy, but could you add a guinea feather to it to make it truly me? Thanks!
Debbididdles-I though for sure you'd want the leg-warmers with matching hat. Guess I don't know you as well as I thought I did.
I can't decide which one. Surprise me--if I am so blessed to get one of these gems. If I don't like it, I am sure Duke will. Joanie
Oh my. Even before you said it I started envisioning a package coming from you with something so wonderful and so unique. I can totally see Evelyn in the second number. Happy knitting! Johnette.....ps Frenchy is feeling a little chilly too. :o)
Joanie and Johnette - Duke and Frenchy? It seems that you both would rather that I knit for your dogs than for you.
Johnette - Ha! You're so right about Evelyn and that hat...or even the leg warmers. I was looking thru an old HSU yearbook and every time she was pictured she had a jaunty little hat on! You better tell her to get her computer hooked up so she can defend herself! :-)
I am proud of your new knitting skill. I tried to teach myself about 2 years ago, and it was a bust. I am left handed, so I am sure that didn't help!
Simon will take a doggie sweater--that's basically like a wide legwarmer with leg holes--should be no problem. If he doesn't get a gift, he will be very jealous of Duke and Frenchy!
Jennifer, it's really a right-handed world, isn't it? My sister and my husband are lefties. My sister is an incredible cake-decorator, but she had to adapt the techniques from right-handed instructions to left. It's not easy.
Although I am enjoying knitting, I think it requires more concentration than crocheting. If I don't want to keep track of where I am on a pattern, I'll go with crocheting for sure. To me it is much more relaxing.
But I will stay with the knitting at least long enough to take care of Simon, Frenchy and Duke.
Don't waste your time clothing the DOGS, Rhonda!! I'd love me some of them thar puffy pink leg warmers...so ME!
Actually, I'm proud of you too! I've wanted to learn to knit for a few years (I am a crocheter as well...) but haven't been motivated to teach myself! Good for you.
Lori - I had you pegged for the Bible cover, but I can totally see that those leg warmers would be a great addition to your Harley emsemble. Should I make a matching pair for Steve?
Can you make a matching cover for my BMA book as well? Thanks...you're a pal.
